For sheltered schemes and care homes incorporating radio capabilities and off-site monitoring, this is today’s most innovative system, lending itself to diverse applications allowing it to extend beyond most social alarm providers specifications This latest generation of Warden Call systems introduces new levels of performance to the market place together with a comfortable, ergonomic wall unit design acceptable to residents and staff alike. Featuring a cordless warden handset for on site use, alarm calls can be answered immediately without the need to 'plug in' to an accessible (or frequently inaccessible) wall unit. The equipment can be operated by a supervising warden in three modes:- ONSITE MODE The warden is local to the site and operates the system using a mobile master unit which does not require electrical connection to the site wiring. LOCAL OFFSITE MODE The warden is remote from the site and operates the system using either a standard telephone or a mobile cellular telephone via a link established over a standard PSTN telephone line connected to the equipment. REMOTE OFFSITE MODE No local warden is available, all alarms are reported using a PSTN link to a centralised and permanently manned facility.
As an aid to fast emergency response, staff safety and operational efficiency, the cordless warden handset can be linked to the external office telephone line to make and receive external telephone calls. Where a Tynetec door entry system or external enquiry point is installed, staff can communicate with visitors at the main entrance using the cordless handset and, depending on the system installation, remotely activate the door release mechanism. As an enhancement to the standard on site and off site communication facilities featured by most current warden call systems, Advent features the award winning local off site facility. This permits calls to be directed to a standard PSTN telephone or mobile cell phone giving much greater flexibility in the management of sheltered accommodation. Many sheltered schemes will retain existing cabling when new equipment is installed and a large number will be using loop or daisy chain type wiring. The Advent nt will connect directly to this type of wiring. There is no difference in the appearance of the speech unit and all the unique functions and features of the Advent system are retained.
